Todd graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology ’83, Tulane University ’88 and Syracuse University ’01. His career spans nearly 45 years in engineering, design, continuous improvement and management in industries of petroleum, chemical & specialty, nonwovens, paper, personal and consumer products, medical devices, pharmaceutical, building products, and labels. He has worked for Exxon Company USA, Shell Oil Company, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, Georgia-Pacific Corporation, Koppers Inc, and Avery Dennison Corporation.  He holds certifications in Six Sigma, Human Resources, Behavioral-based Interviewing, and Executive Leadership & Life Coaching, and he is a licensed minister and a STEM motivational speaker.

Todd is the inventor of the Engineered Bellows Pump, the world’s most accurate disposable pump and co-developer of the first SMART liquids packaging line in Europe.  He is the mechanical inventor and process developer of the first commercial Huggies™ Baby Wipes machine.  He is the inventor of the first high temperature, flexible pressure hose for machine quick-changeover. He holds the 2019 patent to the first Cap Drying Apparatus.

He established and directed Skillman University, a corporate university for BS, MS, and PhD new hires, and directed an International Development Program for MBAs from global schools who were hired to work in more than 30 countries.  He has over 30 years of Engineering & Technical Management experience and has hired nearly 600 engineers, scientists and managers.

He was the architect and manager of a global consumer pilot facility, installing proprietary equipment and developing more than one million new and experimental product-samples annually for global market testing. He has led the commercial launches and roll-outs of many new products to global business markets, and has managed teams consisting of professionals from more than 20 nationalities.

Todd served 4-years on the Board of Governors of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and served in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), being a 40-year member of both. He served with the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Urban League and the American Association of Engineering Societies.  He is a co-author of the National Academy of Engineering publication, Standards for K-12 Engineering Education?. Todd worked and collaborated with over 300 university and college professors for nearly 30 years on achieving institutional changes.
